On Sunday, August 9, 2026 Norfolk Hunt Club’s Charles River Panorama Hunter Pace starts at Medfield State Hospital on Hospital Road in Medfield, MA. The Pace will begin at 8:00 a.m. with the last rider out at noontime.

This annual panorama hunter pace features about 8 miles of riding trails with gorgeous vistas of the Charles River from Medfield, Dover, and Sherborn. Historic and incredibly beautiful properties such as L. Saltonstall Farm, George Lewis Estate, Rocky Narrows, and Charles River Gateway are included on this unique riding experience that you’ll not want to miss!

Charles River Panorama will be held in picturesque region of Medfield, Dover, and Sherborn following along the Charles River where many trails have been used for hundreds of years by Native Americans, horseback riders, walkers, and hikers.

Access to the parking area and starting point can be obtained from Harding (Junction) Street and connecting to Hospital Road in  Medfield, or from Rt. 27 in Medfield turning onto Hospital Road from the west.

Teams of up to five rider/horse pairs compete in one of three divisions: first flight (jumping), second flight (flats), and hilltoppers (slower pace flats). All divisions encounter inviting fences and stone walls not to exceed 3' 6" in height. A way around all obstacles is available to all riders. Riders in all divisions could go around jumps at their own discretion. ** Please note that riders under the age of 16 years-old must have an adult rider on their team**

Entry fee of $80 per adult rider and $60 for junior riders (17 years or younger). LUNCH IS INCLUDED with your entry fee payment. All riders must sign a Liability Waiver. All riders must wear certified helmets and hard-soled shoes with heels. Riders may ride in English or Western tack. There is no water source at Medfield State Hospital. Please bring your own water containers.
